Shoreway Tower is a new 13 story residential tower located along the shoreline of Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio. The 173,000 square foot development brings new residential density and modern urban living to Cleveland’s evolving lakefront corridor, while taking advantage of expansive views toward downtown and the waterfront. The project combines residential, parking, amenity, and outdoor program spaces into a vertically integrated structure designed to support both efficiency and occupant experience.
The structure utilizes a post tensioned concrete framing system that provides the long spans and flexibility required for the residential layouts and amenity spaces throughout the building. Two levels of integrated parking form the base of the tower, supporting a full amenity floor that includes a fitness center, outdoor pool, and shared gathering spaces for residents. Above, nine stories of condominium units are organized to maximize views, natural light, and spatial flexibility within the tower footprint.
At the top of the building, a glass and steel framed penthouse introduces additional amenity and outdoor spaces, including a private pool, yoga studio, landscaped courtyard, and rooftop terrace with panoramic views of downtown Cleveland and Lake Erie. The integration of these elevated amenity spaces required careful coordination between architectural intent, structural framing, and long term performance considerations.
Forefront Structural Engineers worked closely with the broader design and construction team to develop a structural system that balances efficiency, constructability, and architectural openness. The post tensioned system allowed for reduced structural depth, minimized column intrusions, and greater flexibility across residential and amenity layouts while supporting the project’s overall design goals.
As Shoreway Tower continues to rise along Cleveland’s lakefront, the project reflects a broader investment in urban residential development and the continued evolution of the city’s waterfront environment.
