The project consists of approximately eight buildings distributed over a large site located in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood of Nashville. These new mixed use buildings include residential, office and amenity spaces. Each building was carefully designed with different building materials appropriate for regional construction methods and cost efficiency including structural steel, post tensioned concrete, and wood stick frame with concrete masonry block. Project challenges involved: cost effective balance of drilled pier and shallow foundations, multi-stepped post-tensioned concrete slabs, optimized structural steel office framing with concrete masonry cores, and hybrid structural steel and wood stick framing.
