His mixed background with structural rehabilitation and adaptive reuse projects aids in understanding how various structural systems typically behave and deteriorate over time and providing creative solutions to prolong the integrity of the structures. He has been working on large scale hospitality and residential projects along with adaptive re-use projects as well. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with his bachelor's and master's degrees in Structural Engineering. Hershel uses his technical engineering skills along with creative thinking and problem solving to successfully complete projects.
